Early in his life Uccello was an apprentice to the Sculptor Ghiberti, later working in Venice as a mosaicist in Venice producing frescos. His art combines the decorative, elaborate Gothic style with early Renaissance perspective.

the Battle of San Romano.They were for the large hall of the Medici Palace which
was being built by Michelozzo a leading Florentine architect.
