Anna Mary Robertson (Grandma
Moses) was born in 1860 living during the time of the Civil War
and 2 world wars. Living to the age of 101 she did a lot of needlework
and her brush strokes in the paintings resemble stitches. Her
paintings show many landscapes similar to the rural upstate New
York she lived. Other paintings represent fairy tales, and seasonal
themes like Christmas and Thanksgiving.
