Wassily Kandinsky
1866-1944

Born in Moscow his childhood was spent in Italy and early work done in Paris. He founded the Russian Academy and became head of the Museum of Modern Art. He had great influence on younger artists, was the leader of the Blaue Reiter Group, and in 1922 was in charge of the Weimar Bauhaus..
