PAUL GAUGUIN
1848-1903

Post-Impressionist painter Paul Gauguinwas born in Paris. He was a successful stockbroker, painting as a hobby. He became the leader of a group of painters at Pont Aven in Brittany, and also lived in Tahiti using local people as his subjects.
