Walter Crane RWS RI
1845-1915


He studied at Heatherleys Acadmy and exhibited The Lady of Shallot at the Royal Academy in 1862. His art shows influences of Botticelli and the Pre-Raphalites - he was chosen by Burne-Jones to complete the decoration of George Howard's dining-room at 1 Palace Green Kensington with the story of Cupid and Psyche, and was also associated with William Morris designing his own wallpapers, textiles and tapestries. His illustrations show influence of Japanese Prints and he exhibited regularly at the Grosvenor Gallery. .

Kings Gab's Story Bag and the Wonderful Stories it contains: in the British Museum
