Born in the Ukraine, Sonia Delaunay studied art in Karlsruhe and the Academie
de la Palette in Paris. She was co-founder with her husband Robert
Delaunay of the movement know as Orphism. They designed sets and costumes
for Diaghilev, and she was a textile of some importance.
