Born in Calais France he studied at Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp. He was a close associate of William Morris and a founding member of Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co producing designs for furniture and stained glass. There are 12 frescoes of his in the Manchester Town Hall, UK
