WILLIAM BLAKE
1757-1827
Born in London he studied at the Royal Academy School producing engraved illustrations for magazines and watercolors. Poet, painter, engraver his finest work is in th4e 21 Illustrations to the Book of Job.
Across the road from North Lambeth tube is a plaque making the home of William
Blake, and he is represented on the brick walls of the railway bridge running
over Centaur Street. Southbank Mosaics have replicated several of his
artworks.
